Onboarding Overview

Please allow 10-15 minutes to set up your profile. You should also keep the following handy during the sign-up process:
  • a hi-res photo
  • personal bio
  • practice and license information
  • video introduction (optional)
Once your profile is set up, your credentials will be verified within 2-3 business days pending review with respective state licensing boards. Upon verification of your credentials, you will be notified and can start using META immediately. If META cannot verify your information, you will be contacted with the additional information required.
Setting Up Your Profile
You will receive an email to validate your account. After validation, you’ll be able to set up your profile.

Testing Your Equipment
After your account is live, a member of our team will reach out to schedule a walk-through of the META platform. During this walk-through, you’ll be able to test your equipment.   It’s important to note that the META can be accessed through a computer, tablet, or phone. To ensure the highest quality interaction with your clients, we recommend using modern devices equipped with a good microphone and webcam and ensure your Internet upload and download speeds are consistent with the standards of two-way streaming.

Beginning to Work with Clients on META
Your profile will appear in our directory once it is complete. When logged into the app, students can search for therapist profiles based on location and/or specialty. While you are online, potential clients can reach you via instant message to initiate a phone or video call for a free consultation. While offline, potential clients can leave you a message to ask questions or schedule a consultation.
For more information about using the platform, please see our FAQs.
Mastering Video Chat on META
When signed in, you’ll see a chat icon at the top to open a chat window. To the left of the window, you’ll see a list of potential clients who contacted you. You can then use the chat box to respond to their message and set up a video consultation. Once your meeting is confirmed, you are ready to video chat! All you have to do is click on the student’s name and choose the video icon to begin your video session. Keep scheduling in mind when running video sessions. Leave at least 10-15 minutes between chats to prepare for other sessions or to respond to other potential clients.
Setting Up Billing
As part of the set-up process, you will be prompted to establish an account with Stripe, META’s payment processor. Upon completion of a session, your client will be charged and the amount will be deposited directly into your bank account.
Insurance Details
Insurance claims and co-pays work the same way they do outside of META. As a therapist, you are granted access to your client’s insurance co-pay information, which clients enter during their account registration. You do not need to accept insurance to use META. However, consider becoming empaneled with at least one insurance carrier to appeal to a broader base of clients.
Technical Support
META’s support center is available if you encounter any issues. They can be reached at 833-844-META from 8am to 5pm (CST) Monday through Friday.
