Ranger College Supporting Student Mental Health through META

Ranger College, a top-ranked public community college in Texas, is the latest institution to partner with META to provide online counseling services to students.

Ranger College is a fast-growing institution that supports students from over 40 area high schools in a variety of programs including Cosmetology, machining, and nursing.

Young adults throughout the nation including at Ranger College need expanded access to qualified licensed therapists, especially in rural areas with limited physical behavioral health resource centers.

Ranger students can now download META’s Uber-like app, choose a counselor, and receive chat, video, or voice counseling through the privacy and convenience of their smartphones. The app presents available online counselors for immediate connection, or students can leave a message to schedule a future session. Students can filter counselors based on their preferences for gender, therapy style, ethnicity, language and more.

Ranger College is covering the costs for a limited number of student sessions. META counselors also accept insurance and offer sliding scale pricing. META counselors respond to student messages within hours and are available for sessions morning, days, evenings, and weekends. META counselors have a stellar reputation with users, carrying an average rating of 4.8/5.0.

By partnering with META, Ranger College receives a robust mental health outreach program, complete with self-service content directed at students and an ongoing awareness campaign encouraging students to take care of their emotional and mental well-being.
